I wish I had a Love Sac
75
A sad, but true story
I am a 31 year old female and I can honestly say I have never had the joys of owning my very own Love Sac. It is a sad reality, and I am pretty sure many others can relate. The soft cushiony feel of these Love Sacs are truly something I am missing out on. The joys that it could bring not only to me, but to the entire family as well is something I can no longer ignore. Company would also enjoy my newly acquired Love Sac. If I owned my own Love Sac, I would be bragging and showing them off to everyone that listened and anyone who wanted to see. I might even approach complete strangers, convincing them that they too should invest in their very own Love Sac.
I don’t really remember the first time I was introduced to these Love Sacs, but I am pretty sure it was when I was much younger. I wanted one then as well. But the price was out of my grasp. The expense was something I really didn’t feel I was willing to pay… whether it was saving up for this sac of joy, paying upfront, or even thinking about a payment plan.
A week ago, I once again became obsessed with the Love Sac. As an older and much wiser woman, I realized it is worth the investment. Now, I am determined. I have set my mind too it. I am going to save up the money and one day, I too will be a proud owner of a Love Sac.
The Love Sac
So, what is a Love Sac
By now, I can only imagine some of you are a little concerned. You have probably pegged me as a pervert, or possibly imagining me wanting some sort of sex change. I can assure you, that is not the case. A Love Sac is actually an adult bean bag.
In terms of age, the Love Sac hasn’t been around for too long. It is a baby in the eyes of furniture everywhere. Yet, with the hip design, the comfort, and the maneuverability of these items, all stemming from the very first Love Sac, this is sure to be the revolution of the future when it comes to furniture.
The idea started back in 1995 from a highly creative and determined 18 year old boy, Shawn David Nelson. He just decided that he wanted an oversized bean bag. With no such thing in existence, he went ahead and made it for himself. The original sac was 7 feet across and took him 3 weeks to stuff. Yet, the use of regular bean bag beads proved to be a mess. He needed something new. That is how he came up with the idea to stuff it with foam. The idea worked. And naturally, he couldn’t help but take his Love Sac everywhere he went. He eventually became known as “the kid with the big Sac.”
Soon the product had become a big hit and he was getting requests from neighbors so they could have their very own sac as well. Still, in 1998, 3 years after his very first Love Sac, this million dollar idea hadn’t taken off yet, other than locally. He was a college student and on a different path. It wasn’t until late 2001 before the first Love Sac store actually opened in Salt Lake City.
The store took off immediately and today there are 20 stores around the country and these Love Sacs are available for purchase online for those who don’t have a store near them. They have set a name for themselves as a furniture invention, and have made it so they are not just another furniture retailer.
For the house... maybe
The Sactional
Why should I get a Love Sac?
With quality comes a price, and I refuse to sugar coat the reality. These furniture designs have a hefty cost. However, they also come with 2 lifetime guarantees, which means this may be the last furniture purchase you ever make. If you are anything like me, you have probably been through a few pieces already. Personally, I think I have already owned 6 couches.
Now you are probably thinking, “Why would I want bean bags as my only type of furniture?” Well, when Love Sac first came out, it is true they only carried a variety of different bean bag sizes. However, today that is no longer the case. Not only do they still offer the giant bean bags, but they also offer Sactionals and a wide variety of other Love Sac accessories.
The Sactionals are really what drew me in the second time around. Do I want a giant oversized bean bag? Of course I do. But I also want furniture that everybody is comfortable sitting on, including Grandma. (Now I am not saying Grandmas won’t sit in the original Love Sac, but I am almost certain they would be far more comfortable on a Sactional!)
A Sactional is basically just like ordinary furniture, but with a twist. The Sactional can be as big or as small as you want it, considering it is made up from different pieces. These pieces are the base and the side. A back chair requires just one base and one side, while a chaise takes 2 bases and 2 sides. The designs are unlimited. You can even make a huge sectional or just divide them up to make a couch and chair. The choice is completely up to you.
The bonus is, the Sactionals are made up of small pieces, which make it easier to move around. This is beneficial for anybody that moves from house to house. Not only because it makes this furniture easy to transport, but because as we all know, not all houses are created equally. One might have a huge living room, while the next has one that is small and odd shaped. This furniture will guarantee your living room furniture will work wherever you go.
The other added benefit is the change. Are you sick of your furniture and want something new. Every product sold at Love Sac has a cover. These covers allow you to swap out one color for a different one. The best part is, they are also washable. So, if you child just spilled something on the couch - no worries. Take the cover off and throw into the washing machine.
The only downfall I can see is the price of these items. But, like I said earlier, the price is made up in the quality. If the furniture ever starts to flatten out, Love Sac will provide you with additional stuffing. Not to mention, the patented design is guaranteed to be rock solid once it is connected. If that isn’t enough, 2 lifetime guarantees this will be the last furniture purchase you will ever make.

I want one!!!
I really want a Love Sac
So, I have decided that I really want a Love Sac. And with this decision, I will eventually get a Love Sac. Sure, it will take time and it will take persistence to save up the extra money, but I truly believe that I will eventually own one. My first purchase will be the PillowSac with the rocker. All and all, it will cost me about $500.
With that being said…. I guess I better get to work on earning some money!

Nice BBG. At first I thought you meant Love Shack. Then I thought it was some kind of toy thinking who the F*** is this woman. That's great :)
No doubt! Too funny though - and I LOL at the sad, sad photo of you pining for a love sac. You kill me!
I really got confused and thought you were talking about love handles and love shack just through me off. It looks cool but its so big...hope you are able to save enough money to buy what you want. Thanks for sharing this with us...
Well I wasn't sure what I was coming by to read on this one. At first I thought new toy with batteries then I thought as marellen did love handles and why would she want those. I was sure surprised to see comfy furniture. Have never before seen Love Sac stuff before so it was a great learning experience. Thanks so much :)

good hub VOTE UP :)
I already have a 'love sac' who travels a lot. Should I find a domestic version? Anxiously and apprehensively awaiting awesome advice.
I admit, I was duped by your title, after all is that the point of getting readers? Even after looking at the picture of this furniture, I still wasn’t convinced of its innocence. Very funny hub, nice reference to the inventor, maybe he should cut you in on some royalties for this advertisement…God Bless.
Like Jason R. Manning above I was expecting something a little different and was wondering how your hub had made it through the rigorous HubPages censure but it did the trick. If the tile was "I want a bean bag" I am not sure I would have gone for the bait! Nice work.
Maybe a Snuggie would be a good substitute in the meantime. You can even get one for your dog!
I have a snuggie too she is called Mary.
Have you looked on Ebay or Craigslist for a LoveSac? They do sound comfy and pretty amazing.
Mary is my wife LOL!
SW and BBG - hilarious! I knew his wife's name was Mary so I didn't think twice about SW's comment - then I saw yours BBG! LMAO! Ahhhhhh lets all name our snuggled now - I'll be laughing every time I see one of those things! Omg - tell Mary we are all naming our snugiies after her;)
Sorry ...copyright! RH you call yours Dave and barbergirl you call yours Stan!
You didn't fall for the bait then...I thought that would get you to reveal your husband's name as I am still curious which of those soldiers in an earlier hub you married!
Wow, we could use one of these at home. We have a kind of bean bag lumpy chair sack thing...but I tend to fall out of it sometimes...LOL. Cool hub.
....reminds me of that song by the B-52's - Love Shack - or perhaps now, the Love Sac - lol lol - I always love your irreverent, sexy, sassy, clever, witty, ironic writing style - and it's a style that belongs all to you and no one else - not everyone can write with this much ease, this much fun and this much confidence - but yet, you do!!!!
Ok you can now call your snuggie the Taco Cup!LOL
TBC ROCKS and let the eyes ROLL!
Rock 'n' Roll!
Your hub had me Laughing but your comment to spirit whisperer had me Roaring. Priceless :-)
Great way to end my long day :-)
It is so obvious BBG that your creative brain never shuts off. This was a great read. You took a piece of furniture and made it fascinating. Fun, fun, fun!

"The kid with the big sack." I bet he was happy with that nickname. ;)
I'll admit that it was your title that caught my eye. I thought I was in for a naughty hub.
Very interesting and funny. I want a love sack now too, but I'll have to save over a period of twenty years, most likely.
Enjoyed your hub. Our kids always loved their bean bags. I had never heard of a love sac.

BBG - how many times do I start my comment with OMG oh your hubs! You have done it again! I saw the title and - well who knows with you?! I couldn't imagine where this 120 second journey would take me - and poof! I landed in the love sac!
I want one too - Dave is not going to like that!
